Last night on CTV News at 11:30 some girl in Trinity Bellwoods park was being interviewed about not wearing a mask. As she was speaking, a guy interrupted and kissed her. She certainly wasn't trying to get away, and was clearly enjoying it. After it happened the reporter asked if she was OK and if she was alright with what had happened. Her response was "yeah, he's hot!". After her interview she blew him a kiss, waved, and shouted "text me". it seems they had met earlier in the day, gotten to know each other a bit, and that she had had to leave when he was away from the group so she had given one of his friends her phone number to give to the guy. After realizing she had left, finding out she had given her number, and seeing her being interviewed he had run over and kissed her. The whole thing was kind of funny, kind of sweet, and looked like something out of a thousand romantic movies. But instead of seeing it that way, some social justice fuckwits decided that it was a non-consensual act (they clearly didn't watch the actual kiss because she gave implied consent), that it was sexual assault, etc. Some have even called for the guy to be charged despite the woman who was kissed speaking out and saying that what happened was not sexual assault. And still others have claimed that it promotes (alleged) rape culture! Some moron at a rape crisis centre claims that the woman's positive reaction is simply a symptom of rape culture. So now we have groups who claim that all survivors must be believed, social justice warriors, snowflakes with too much time on their hands, etc. all taking the fun and romance out of an innocent kiss (yes, I see it as something innocent). None of them were involved, but they are outraged on behalf of the girl even though she herself is perfectly fine with what happened. Not only are they spewing outrage, but CTV has bloody well apologized for broadcasting a non-consensual act. They are asking forgiveness as if they did something wrong. Seriously, dafuq is wrong with people these days?
