Both the Golden Saint and the Rottweiler cross I had loved the outdoors but they had no choice. They were outdoor dogs. Had to just about carry the Golden Saint into the house and nothing could get her out of the kitchen. They were always ready for a walk and playing out doors, no matter what time of year it was. With both dogs anything my son did was alright with them....except for being inside the house. They would go inside the shop thru the dog door but that was part of their job.
Speaking of Rotti crosses, a Basset/Rotti cross? Which one was the mother?

I have two golden retrievers and they love the snow so much you wouldn’t believe it. I have shared my life with goldens for the last 20 years or so and every one of them have become ectasic at the sight of the first fall of snow come winter.[IMG]

Haha...we assume Basset. She was a rescue, a recent mother, completely drained of nourishment, skin just hanging off her and her tits dragging on the ground. Very anxious and skittish but settled in with us quickly. She’s the picture of health now, we’ve had her for a year and a half. We named her Billie, after Billie Holiday (our other dog is Otis, for Otis Redding).

I don't think they sang together but it would have been a hell of a show.
Cross a Golden Retriever with Saint Bernard and you'll have a water/snow loving dog around whom no beer is safe. And you can't tire the damned things out.

My puppies love to frolic in the snow. Ben loves to make snow angels. I kid you not the dog rolls over on his back and starts wiggling around meanwhile Frankie just stands there like a big putz and eats the snow.
