He was my favourite Blue Jay. He was amazing to watch, so smooth.... One of the reasons the Jay's had success during the 80s... He was only 57. To young. RIP...

WTF! Oh man, part of my youth just died. He was my favourite too, and his side arm pitch across the diamond was a thing of beauty.

I taught my kids how to catch over the last couple of summers, and every time I would run down a ball and side arm it back across the yard I would yell, "Tony FernAAAAAAAAAndez." My kids would laugh and ask about him.

Man, this has bummed me out. RIP

Tony Fernandez and Roberto Alomar will allways be my favourite Blue J's.
Was so sad to hear the news that Tony died.
    RIP Tony.

I can't say 100% for sure, but I think I was already traveling to TO in the late 80's when Tony was still SS, for sure I saw Robbie probably half a dozen times. But I saw Tony probably 3/4 of televised Jay's games throughout his tenure. Loved watching him. RIP, my age = far too soon!

My favourite ballplayers are Tony Fernandez, Dave Stieb & Gary Carter. Tony & The Kid left us way too soon.
