RIP Rutger Hauer

    Died after a short illness in his home in The Netherlands. Aged 75.

    For whatever reasons - and he may well have been the nicest guy ever, in person - being menacing on screen was always something that seemed to come easily to him.

    That's a shock. I didn't realize he was that old either. Great in Blade Runner without a doubt. RIP.

    Sad to hear this, I'll miss him.
    Like Mark, I found him most outstanding playing menacing characters, 'The Hitcher' and 'Hobo With a Shotgun' being good examples.
    At the other end of the spectrum, roles like 'Ladyhawke' where he also excelled. Very versatile and seemed to always put his heart into it.

    Lots f cool roles in some good (& some not so good, but fun, movies)
