    Has anyone else experienced this?
Using my Joyo Metor (although it happened with my Peavey Envoy when using as a head as well) and a HK Redbox 5, I had this strange cutting power to my amp when using the output from the micro head to the input of the Redbox.

Read the manual and yes it was hooked up correctly. inserted between the speaker out and speaker input.
Ended up just cranking the amp and carrying on.

Did some testing today, removed the battery and powered it with phantom power from my Scarlet interface and same issue.

Read the manual again, and decided to try it in the effects loop as well as the reverb unit I use for the Joyo.
So, FX loop chain is as follows:

Amp Send -> Redbox IN, Redbox OUT -> reverb IN, Reverb out -> Amp Return.

Boom, works perfectly. Since it's before the reverb, the signal is dry, speaker still has reverb for playing live.

BTW if anyone is curious this is what a Joyo Metor sounds like at full blast

When you experienced the problem were you using two speaker cables (not instrument cables) to insert the Redbox between head and cab?

    They were both speaker cables.

We tryed switching those out as well, but all we had were regular guitar leads.

    Didn't work out so well
