Paul Krassner, radical activist, dies at 87

I met Krassner briefly, when he appeared on a panel discussion at the Youth Pavillion at Expo 67. I found him funny and outrageous. I had no idea just how outrageous, before I went and bought a copy of The Realist at a local headshop; the issue with the infamous "Disneyland Orgy". I won't post more than the link to it here, since it is not particularly safe for work. He worked at Mad magazine for a while but even though the infamous orgy shared some of Mad's sensibilities, it went way past their boundaries.

I had always thought he was one of the Chicago 7, arrested at the 1968 Democratic Convention, but it turned out he wasn't, even though he figured in their trial. That aside, the guy was woven through so much of the 1960s.
    Mooh and keto like this.

Bill Kunstler defended the Chicago seven; Kunstler along with Clarence Darrow and Abraham Lincoln are the lawyers that, for me, have shed light on what has frequently been a dark and dreary path.

To me his claim to fame was as a Merry Prankster. RIP
