Does anyone suffer from these devastating headaches besides me and Torndownunit?

If so, tell us your course of action.

I have migraines for the last 4 days in a row and I can’t take it anymore. Trying to hook up with my neurologist is really hard because of this COVID thing. I am totally relying on my GP but he’s not a neurologist. Now on my 5th new medication. This is just pushing me beyond my limits. I have spent too many days in bed for the last 20 years.

PS none of the holistic medicines have done anything for me.

It makes things a lot worse. Tried it, doesn’t work.

My mom gets bad migraines all the time and has for years. She'll even go blind in one eye when one is coming on.

She hasn't found anything that helps and has resigned to just toughing them out.

I'll have to look at my dosage. But I take amitriptyline (25mg?) every night before bed. I used to get 2 or 3 a month, now I get one every few months. When I do get one I take another pill which is hit or miss...

No I can’t. Being high with a migraine for me personally is absolute hell.

Has she tried any of the new CRGP meds?

We talked before, I take 4 Advil liquid jell caps when the aura starts and that will prevent the headache. I still feel sort of weird, and my head is on the verge of a headache but as long as I don't shake or bump my head it is not too bad.

Years ago I stopped drinking coffee and all caffeine. I experienced a huge drop in migraine frequency and intensity.

I have two small coffees a day and a steeped tea at night. I think that this is too much. I started drinking hot water with lemon as my night time drink.

I honestly could eliminate 1 coffee as well.

Does she do any research on the latest scientific developments in regards to migraines? I read as much as I can about this subject, I ask my GP and neurologist questions all the time. They are both amazing doctors. Very compassionate and caring.

I think she has in the past, but doesn't take any meds now as she couldn't handle the side effects.

I have the same doctor as my parents, and he's a real dick.

I consider myself very fortunate to have the GP that I do. I do find some of the specialists that I have been to see very arrogant. They make me feel like their dealing with a 5 year old. Condescending.
