Co-founder Pat Matheny group dead at the young age of 66. RIP and thank you for the great music.

I saw The PMG at Ontario Place.

It must have been in the 80s.

Honestly it wasn’t really my cup of tea, but the musicianship and quality of sound were top knotch.

I had to learn Phase Dance for a college project.

That combination of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays is one of the best. Lyle Mays didn't get as much recognition as his playing partner but he definitely is one of the most innovative jazz piano players.
Rest in Peace Lyle. Thanks for the music.

Mays provided the texture that allowed Metheny to shine. Sad loss. Keyboard players tend to improve with age, so 66 is still young.
