Has CanadaPost’s tracking partially broke for anyone else?

As of Thursday, CanadaPost’s tracking decides to stop showing me where packages were. Still showing updates of it arriving, being processed, and departing places, but not associating those a city. See screenshot.

I know we’re in weird times, but this one is a strange one.

That’s what I saw for the last package I had delivered. It s a pretty basic info system now.

When the postal strike/slowdown was going on about 18 months ago I was able to track my package across Canada. It was starting in Niagara Falls and being shipped to me north of Toronto. It went from Niagara Falls to London to Winnipeg to Toronto, somewhere else I can’t remember and then finally it made its way to me. Lol.

If that was happening today with not being able to see detailed tracking I’d just think it was slow shipping, not postal employees screwing with customers.

I think most package tracking is questionable at best.

I’ve had a few tracking messages tell me a package has been delivered but no sign of it. then it arrives a few hours later.

Each time, I worried that I had been a victim of porch pirates.

Or, the opposite happens and the tracking catches up a day or two later.

Useless.

I just want to know that my packages are at least progressing their way to me (in Regina) and haven’t been accidentally flown from Edmonton to Halifax. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I will say, CanadaPost throwing out their delivery standard is pretty shitty when they’ll still happily take the fee for expedited and enhanced services.

I haven't had mail all week. I keep reading stories that the Canada Post Union wants us to disinfect our mailboxes. With what? All the lysol wipes have been hoarded, all the sanitizers have been hoarded. I broke down and made my own hand sanitizer when I noticed I had all the ingredients. Even if I did disinfect it, how would you know? Should I put a sign up that I disinfected my mail slot? Would you believe me?

They have also stated you do not have to sign for a package. So I'm sure some of the employees have taken that as I don't have to scan it either.

I've been waiting for a letter from Missiaugua for 3 weeks. It's somewhere between there and here. One would hope that parcels are fairing better. Not that the stuff in the letter is all that important anymore, it's just the last thing I need before I can mail my income tax. No rush on that now. From what I've seen the postal workers around here aren't too worried about the boxes being sanitized.
