The Z-Best cabs are awesome. Theile ported, high build quality, tough tolex, great design. Apparently in 2017 they changed the plywood type and made it lighter. I have an older one and it is heavy!

I have a Friedman 4x12 ( Greenbacks on top, V30 on bottom) sounds great, took some time to break in, during that time it did not sound great.

The 1x12 with the Creamback that I have seemed to sound better right away, possibly doesn't need to break in like the V30 does.

Now the issue with the friedman 112 is it's only 19 inches wide, the amp head is going to be hanging over the edge by a fair bit. The dirty shirley cab is 24 wide but doesn't match...you could get a 212 also, that would be a nice fit.

Dave makes a Smallbox 1x12 now, identical to the bigger Dirty Shirley 1x12 but aesthetically matches the smallbox. The smallbox heads from the last 2 or 3 years are all 24” to match.

Thanks for pointing that out. Ill actually check that the one being sent to me is 24 inches and not the old version.

Mine was an older full size head, think the overhang was about an inch on either side?

Hmm I might look into one of those, I love wide body 112 cabs.

Turns out the smallbox im getting in NOS so the old measurements...but i want a 1x12 creamback cab. Does friedman do custom orders? Any other options that would match the aesthetics?

I’d check with Dave Friedman, he’s sold the smaller headshell’s before, not sure about custom cabs?
