Whatever you thought of the Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster, it must have been popular enough for Fender to issue this version

I’d like to try one but at 2,599.99 CDN they are way out of my budget. The online demos sounded better than the Telecaster version to me. I liked the three electric modes. Being able to play acoustic rhythm then switch to electric mid song would be very useful. I wasn’t as impressed with the Telecaster version’s electric modes.

the Tele from last year was pretty gross but I must admit it felt and played pretty great, maybe this will have redeeming qualities

You want to destroy it with a chainsaw?

    Yah, that sounds about right.

I don’t understand all the hate. Are we so caught up in our ways that we can’t accept the idea of something new? It’s not even really that new. Hybrid guitars have been around for a while. Guitars with synth features have been around for a while. This is just an evolution. Just like any other instrument it may not suit you but to hate it without trying it. That’s crazy.

Like @Kerry Brown I understand the hate. Maybe, in part, because I am NOT a purist, and not all that stuck in the past.

It appears their Acoustasonic Telecaster was successful enough to warrant another foray into the acoustasonic world with a strat version. If it anywhere close to the success their tele version had, it will make Fender some money which is why they are in business.

I have a “normal” Strat and I still think they are the sharpest looking guitar ever made. Not this one. I find it kind of ugly due to their odd colour schemes. I also think they are much more of an electric with a hole in it as opposed to an acoustic with electronics in it. Pass.
