Ernest Borgnine, the beefy screen star known for blustery, often villainous roles, but who won the best-actor Oscar for playing against type as a lovesick butcher in Marty in 1955, died Sunday. He was 95.

His longtime spokesman Harry Flynn said Borgnine died of renal failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with his wife and children at his side.

Wow, another one gone. Also one of my favorite actor comedians from the 60's. RIP.

If you have never seen "Emperor Of The North" I highly recommend it.

I really liked Mr. Borgnine, a good actor with a great face. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I assumed (wrongly) that he died years ago. May he rest in Peace.

This is one of my all time favorite movies that also starred Lee Marvina and Keith Carradine. I remember going to the Drive-in to see it.
