So i have this Boss Me-80 for sale here and no bites. Did not want to discuss it on the thread so asking you guys and gals your opinion on these. Is it priced right? Are these in demand?
    Much appreciate your opinions.
    Thanks

I’d say it’s priced right, and I was thinking of contacting you. It would be redundant in my collection and I’d have to sell a couple of things first. Was wondering if it was worth my trouble;)

Demand isn’t big for last generation tech. I buy these knowing this. I guesss people are waiting for a steal because they know their basically stuck with it if it doesn’t work out.

Thanks Cups. I was thinking the same. I guess all these pedals we are buying will be redundant at one time or another.

I love my ME-80, especially the modulation effects. There's a lot of bang for the buck. However, I would say you're okay for now, price wise, but I just don't see used multi-fx going that high for much longer given the computerization of guitarland, unfortunately.

For your sake, I hope I'm wrong.

    Best of luck.

As just a hobbyist getting back into guitar I thought a used multi-effects processor would be better (for my wallet) than going down the rabbit hole of individual pedals. Especially considering how expensive they are these days. So I did some reading online about them then watched Kijiji. I picked up an ME-80 this summer for $160. The seller said that was a good deal and I agreed with him. I love it. For my needs it has given me a near infinite choice of sounds and is in my opinion as good as buying individual pedals tonal-wise (not counting high-end boutiques of course). Also makes it a much simpler/smaller affair than a pedal board. Of course an all-in-one isn't for everybody. I think your price (which includes shipping) is a great deal. In person I'd try to haggle another $20 off lol.

You're also competing with pretty decent free iPhone and iPad modelers. I think if someone wants a floor modeler, they are likely serious about it and may want the latest tech. Otherwise, iPads and iPhones are very, very good with things like Amplitube and BIAS FX.

The advantage of a floor unit over a computer is footswitchability. The ME-80 has easy access to all its effects. And I know the “Boss sound” isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I quite like it.

I'll come at it from another view. Do you see the amount of guitar stuff that gets listed on Kijiji every day? It's kind of mind boggling the number of items added within 100km of Hamilton every day (yes, I have a problem ;)). Plus all the new gear outlets available (L&M, Web).

The price is not un-fair. But with so many options (as mentioned above) if you really want it gone, you may have to nearly give it away.

Must have been all the good vibes this thread generated. Replacing it with anything?

Has to be Mark.lol. Going back to my roots where less is more and focussing on my tone instead of a multitude of effects.Picked up a Keeley Aria compressor gain combined pedal. So far love the compressor side.Have not had a chance to gig it and try the gain channel properly. This Saturday gigging so see how it works out.
