IN THE 1980'S I was living in Moose Jaw I worked at the Royal Hotel. I WAS A TRANSPLANT from California. Thus the stage Name The"Californiakidd". I DID ALL THE jams in Moose jaw and played out anywhere and every where I could.Havibg Cerebral Palsy was not a great calling card to get hired in a band lol but Moose jaw was good to me .Big George was one of the most amazing guitar players I knew and taught me so much about loving life and not sweating life. Most oeople didnt know that Big George also played fiddle and raised with lenny Breau ( lonepine). GEORGE WASNT impressed with fame but knew who and what he was.he without knowing it gave me and a few others a mentor to learn not how tobe flashy but to be entertaining and make everything that you did flow easy. HE NEVER BRAGGED HE JUST SHOWED YOU LOL. Many times I would get muscle spasms because of the cold weather while playing and George would take over the playing and I would just sing. He was my Hero as he was to redd Volkert.GEORGE got us started in long careers. Thanks George!
