Any recommendations? I’m probably going to spend very little, I could go to $400 if it makes a difference.

I would like one that will work with an iPad, prefer 24/192. First job will be to plug in a line-level record player.

I see some older ones had built-in effects. Do any of the cheap ones have DSP engines in them?

I believe Steinbergs have versions that work with iPads over WiFi from your PC.

That UR44 seems like a very old product, but it is available here, cheap?

I use the Steinberg UR22 MK2. Might not suit your needs but it's a pretty good unit. Uses the Yamaha D-Pre preamps which are supposed to be pretty decent. Built like a tank. Lots of good options. They're about $180 new.

If you’re transferring LPs, make sure you get an RIAA preamp into your signal chain.

I'm in a similar situation. Time to upgrade my computer and get a new, better interface. I'm liking what I see with the new, 3rd gen Focusrite Scarlett interfaces. But my needs may be different, I need S/PDIF connectivity as well as mic and line preamps.
