Trying to find some grounding wire like used in the vintage style harnesses... Keep finding coated, insulated, stranded and almost always copper or aluminum.

What do you guys use? Does it have a special name?

Closest I can find is the tin coated silver hobby wire... It the same?

I just take a peice of 18ga single strand (solid) wire and strip all the insulation off it. Or the cloth covered wire, you just pull the jacket off it. :)

It's funny that everytime I find it, they use terms like vintage correct, impossible to find, etc... But same description.... Tinned copper wire.

Luxe does sell the sleeves though. I have a few feet of it but not sure if the same size. Probably is.

Some neat stuff there though... Until you do the exchange and shipping.

I'll give that Amazon roll a try. Can't imagine it being too different. Not sure what "specs" exactly they're talking about.

they also sell what I think is called "zero ohm" resistors. it's a bare wire. I use a lot of them in amps.

Well, ordered that amazon roll... new cell phone coming and need a case ordered ASAP, and of course needed about $5 more for free shipping. :D

Nieces make earrings and such so, I'll have a use if no good.

Can't see it being much different though. Copper. Tinned. Designed for soldering because used a lot in stainglass work.

I searched Bus Wire on Amazon as well and found a lot of 20AWG rolls, but big rolls...

I bought some quite a while back. I think it was from Amazon but it is not there now. Here is a pic of what I bought -

Here is a link to their site and they seem to have lots of options. link and I think the same as what I bought. The 100' spool is $16.35.

Well, amazon order delayed because of that wire, so cancelled the wire and grabbed that 100' of buss wire instead. Cost a bit more and way more than I need, but, need a case asap because those phones are crazy slippery. :)

But, because no one has really said otherwise, I'm going to assume that apart from the gauge, that craft wire is the same as buss wire.

At least I know the name of it now. And if anyone needs any, I'll have extra. :)

I do not think either? Says Memphis TN in the contact info.

    Cheers Peter.
