Hey everyone; just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Steve, hence the clever user name.
I'm from the States (so expect some good natured ribbing about your accents and poutine), but I travel extensively throughout Canada. So, I figured, why not?
Looks like some fun digs!

Hi Steve
Welcome to a great forum. ENJOY !!
Please tell us a bit more about yourself (e.g., what type(s) of music you like to play, your gear, etc.). Someone else is going to ask this eventually...so I thought I'd be first.
If you are located in a part of the USA that gets a lot of decent (i.e., sunny)weather between now and May...I would suggest that you don't mention that....LOL.
Cheers
Dave
Welcome aboard Steve!
Well, I’m 47, retired from the US Navy back in 2001. Our Navy is a lot bigger than your Navy, but you guys have bars on your ships, so you can chalk that up in the “win” column. I actually don’t play too much guitar anymore. My band of ten years broke up in 2005, and I’ve since gotten heavily into photography.
Man, and I thought guitars were expensive.
I still pick up a guitar from time to time, but that’s just to get my yah-yahs out more than anything. I’m completely enjoying the fact that I’m no longer gigging. The money was good, but it had gotten to the point where it was a second job, and I really didn’t want one of those. I used to be a moderator for an old America Online Guitar SIG, and I kinda’ miss the back and forth of guitar discussions. So, I figured, since I travel a lot in Canada, I might as well find a Canadian-based forum.
And, so, here I is…
Oh, okay. I get it.If you are located in a part of the USA that gets a lot of decent (i.e., sunny)weather between now and May...I would suggest that you don't mention that....LOL.
What you’re saying is that I probably shouldn’t tell you that I live in San Diego, where the temperature is supposed to be around 88 degrees today under a crisp, blue, sunny sky?
Okay… I’ll keep that to myself until a later date. Thanks for the head’s up…
Thanks for all the info Steve. That is a very clever user name, BTW....
Small world !!... I was in Carlsbad, CA. (and San Diego) about 2 weeks ago. Met a guy that knew Dick Dale ......it is a very long story, and I believe him 100%. He is an older guy who was an exec in an amp company and went to the winter and summer NAMM shows for years. Had a guitar signed by Dick Dale and was playing at a local club.
Carlsbad is a cool little place. Relaxing and laid back.
Hope you enjoy the forum.
Cheers
Dave
