Phaez DaisyCutter Amp Head

Review Submitted By gtone

Name Of Reviewed Item Phaez DaisyCutter Amp Head

Your Review This amp was custom ordered and built by Randy Fay (ontariomaximus on E-Bay). Non-channel switching model with 2X EL84 power tubes, 2 X 12AX7 preamps and high efficiency solid state rectifier. Has volume, master and single tone controls, plus "throttle" (boost) and "bite" switches. 4 and 8 ohm outputs and a line level out, but no effects loop. Tone and feel for days! Widest sweet spot I've ever seen on an amp at any price point. Plays well with mod/delay effects and some OD's, distortion or fuzz boxes (prolly sell the dirt pedals after you hear/feel the quality of the gain modes, however). Rated for 14W, but like AC15, packs a good punch. Useful for jamming, recording, playing small clubs, solid tones at bedroom volumes on tap. Blows me away every time I fire it up. Had it since June 2008 and no probs thusfar. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another Phaez and have every confidence that Randy stands behind his products.

Would You Recommend This Item To A Fellow Member? Yes

Other equipment used for this review Was tested with a variety of guitars - Hamers, LP Jr, '62 Kay/Silvertone. Vox and Fender cords, Korg SDD-2000, Duncan Twin Tube Classic.

Value For Money Yes, very much worth the price

Price Paid (Optional) $400
